The Opportunity

In this role, you will work as a software engineering intern on the core product that powers how companies turn their distributed knowledge into digestible context for all their AI processes.

You will work closely with our founders and first full-time hires (platform engineer, product designer, AI/ML engineer) on real product work, not side projects. Depending on your strengths, you might touch anything from ingestion and retrieval pipelines to product features that expose context to users.

Qontext is already getting used by 10+ design partners and we are aiming to launch v0 of our platform by the end of 2025.

If you enjoy deep technical challenges, working from first principles, and shipping products that define a new category – this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Work on well scoped product and platform projects together with our founder

  • Build and improve features across our stack, for example small product surfaces that help users control and validate context

  • Contribute to backend services in TypeScript or Python, such as ingestion, retrieval, queuing or evals, depending on your interests and strengths

  • Help improve our developer experience by cleaning up interfaces, writing tests and adding small quality of life improvements across the codebase

  • Take ownership of at least one end to end project during your internship, from idea and design to implementation, shipping and iteration based on user feedback

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Love building distributed systems and tackling high-complexity logic problems

  • Enjoy turning research and theory into production-grade products

  • Have a bias for ownership, and thrive in fast-paced, early-stage environments

  • Are endlessly curious, pragmatic, and care about how AI can be made truly useful
