What is an AI teammate?
An AI teammate sits inside a channel or thread rather than behind its own login. Instead of opening an app and typing a prompt, a person mentions it directly in the conversation, the way they'd mention a colleague, and it responds there.
Why does the AI teammate exist?
Most work-related questions and decisions happen in chat, not inside a dedicated app. Opening a separate tool to ask something or to write a decision down is a step people skip under time pressure, so the same question gets re-asked and the decision never gets recorded. An AI teammate meets people in the channel the question already came up in.
How does an AI teammate work?
A person mentions it in a message, the same as mentioning a colleague, and it answers or acts inside that channel or thread. What it can actually do from there depends entirely on what it's connected to: without a structured, current source of company knowledge behind it, its answers are limited to what the underlying model already knows or to what's visible in that one conversation.
