What is a workspace?

A workspace is an isolated context repository that holds all the files, folders, synced sources, and team members for a group or organization. Everything in one workspace is separate from everything in another: files don't cross between workspaces, syncs are per-workspace, and team members belong to specific workspaces. This isolation lets different departments, companies, or projects use Qontext independently.

Why do workspaces exist?

Large organizations often need to keep data separated by department, business unit, or client. One workspace for the sales team, another for product, another for finance, each with their own files, sources, and members, makes sure sensitive information stays where it belongs and teams don't accidentally interfere with each other's work.

How do workspaces work?

A workspace owner or admin creates a new workspace, then invites team members and connects data sources. Members work within that workspace's context repository; they only see files and folders they have access to within that workspace. If someone needs to work in multiple workspaces, they join each one separately with potentially different roles in each.
