A company policy is a rule about how work gets done: what data can leave the company, how customers are handled, what an agent may promise. As agents take on more of this work, they need the relevant policy in front of them to stay within it, the same way an employee checks the rule before acting.
Agents act without the policy in front of them
Policies live in wikis and PDFs that agents never open. An agent answering a customer or handling data does not know the current rule unless someone wrote it into the prompt, and prompts go stale the moment a policy changes. The result is agents that improvise: some follow an old version, some follow none, and no one can tell afterward which policy an agent actually used.

Keep your policies in the context repository as retrievable context, with access controls deciding which agent and which group can reach which policy. Before it acts, an agent retrieves the policy that applies, so it works from the current rule instead of a stale copy or none at all. When a policy changes, you edit it once and every agent retrieves the new version next time, and retrieval logs show which policy was read for a given answer.
