Continuous updates is how Qontext automatically detects and applies changes to files coming from synced data sources.
What are continuous updates?
Continuous updates is the process by which Qontext automatically detects changes in synced data sources and updates the corresponding files in the context repository to keep them current. When a source like Notion or HubSpot changes, the updated information flows into its matching file automatically, without manual intervention.
Why do continuous updates exist?
Source data changes constantly: a sales contact updates their phone number, a document gets revised, or a project status changes. Without continuous updates, files in the context repository become outdated and agents continue working from non-current information. Continuous updates keep synced files automatically aligned with their sources, so agents always see the current state.
How do continuous updates work?
When a sync completes, Qontext compares what came in from the source to what's already in the corresponding file. If there are differences, an automated agent applies the changes to the file, respecting the file's change review settings: if the file is marked "Require review," the changes queue for approval; if not, they apply automatically.
Continuous updates respect access controls and file structure, so changes apply within the boundaries set by a workspace's folder organization and permissions. If an agent can't apply a change because of a conflict or structure issue, it reports the problem so someone can investigate.
